The Fortuna Art Council encourages local visual artists, both
members and non-members, to exhibit their work in both the
private and public sectors. Members of the Art Council are
encouraged to display their art in various venues in Fortuna and
Humboldt County, including Fortuna’s Art and Wine in the Park
and Apple Harvest Festival, and Humboldt County’s North Coast
Open Studios. Members’ art is also exhibited in businesses
throughout Fortuna.
The Fortuna Art Council was established in 1966 by a group of
local artist with a shared interest in supporting visual art and
artists in Humboldt County through raising public awareness,
understanding and appreciation of visual art. This not-for-profit
Art Council draws its members from areas throughout Humboldt
County including, Eureka, Fortuna, Hydesville, Myers Flat,
Redcrest and Rio Dell to name a few.
Meetings are held every third Monday (except December) in
Rohner Park Recreation Hall at 1:00 followed by a guest speaker.
New members and anyone interested are welcome to attend.
